Friday, May 21 2004 - caught 3pm ferry to Tswassen had picnic lunch in the car waiting for the ferry, made our way downtown to find the “Big Top” and waited in the rain to get into see Cirque Du Soleil at 8 pm. Show was stunning, music was great and crowd was happy! Great show! Left for Aldergrove to spend the night at friends Clive & Teresa and arrived around midnight. Stayed up till about 1:30am talking and drinking and telling them all about the show.

Saturday, May 22 2004 – slept in!!! Took Clive and Teresa out to breakfast because Clive needed Bacon. Decided to go for a drive and ended up at the Chocolate House in Murrayville. Bought fudge that the Saunders kids ate in 5 seconds flat! Then went on to the Fort Winery in Ft. Langley and did some fruit wine tasting. They make the best white cranberry wine on the planet! Bought 2 bottles for dinner. Dave filled up the car with cheap gas and we had an amazing dinner thanks to chef Teresa (spaghetti & fresh bread and lots of wine!) Watched videos (Timeline and Stuck on You) very funny.

Sunday, May 23 2004 – Teresa made us her famous pancakes for breakfast and we packed up and said goodbye to the Saunders. Drove into Abbotsford and got US $$ and travel insurance. Crossed the border at the Sumas crossing and had lunch at Wendy's in Bellingham and dessert at Krispy Kreme in Mt. Vernon. Drove till we couldn’t drive any more and got gas in Cottage Grove, Oregon camped in the car at this amazing campground called Schwatz Campground near Dorena Lake. Ran by a cute little old couple from Yuma Arizona.

Monday, May 24 2004 – Woke up, showered in the campground and took pictures of the lake and dam on the property. Headed out and toured beautiful Cottage Grove to find all the covered bridges – way cool! Had lunch in Grants Pass, Oregon at Denny's, gassed the car in Weed, California and turned off there to go thru Mt. Shasta Park (really sad they have clear cut thru there…Americans) continued driving till we saw the sparkly lights of Reno, Nevada. Had dinner at the Olive Garden. Went into downtown Reno and looked around and then into downtown Sparks and played some slots at the casino – lost about 20 bucks. Slept the night at the Reno Econo Lodge.

Tuesday, May 25 2004 - left Reno, drove into Carson City and looked around from the car. Stopped at Walgreens to get Dave some water and Pepto as he was feeling sick to his stomach. Went to Kinko’s and took copies of our passports, just in case originals are lost or stolen and got Jenn a sandwich at Subway. Dave still not feeling well but insisted on driving to Tahoe. 5 Minutes out of Carson City Dave pulled over and puked all over an ant hill and Jenn proceeded to drive to Tahoe and get a hotel room (Days Inn) so Dave could sleep off his sickness. Jenn went out to Ralph’s grocery store and got dinner for herself and crackers for Dave. Jenn hung out and did laundry and watched TV as Dave writhed in discomfort.
